  • Place Name: First Place
    Contestant Name: The Clarion
Entry Title: A long way to go
Entry Credit: Caden Christiansen, Soraya Keiser
Judge Comment: I thought this was a powerful piece about an important aspect to sports history with Title IX. The use of words as well as graphics to depict a larger aspect of Bethel sports was outstanding. The lede to this story brought my attention in and I didn't want to stop reading until the end. Well done!
  • Place Name: Second Place
    Contestant Name: The Clarion
    Entry Title: Breaking the cycle
    Entry Credit: Kaden Lamb
Judge Comment: This piece was well constructed and written perfectly for a sports audience. The lede grabbed my attention and I was impressed to see the growth of this program. The only thing I would've loved to see with this story is more graphics to make us understand more about the growth of the program.
  • Place Name: Third Place
Contestant Name: Tommie Media (University of St. Thomas)
Entry Title: St. Thomas football enters final game after exceeding expectations in first DI season
Entry Credit: Cam Kauffman, Olivia Paradise
Judge Comment: I think this was one of the biggest storylines for Minnesota college sports because everyone knew about the transition to Division I. You were able to give a better context to make us understand how the players and coaches were feeling. The lede was written well and it allowed for the rest of the story to flow perfectly. Great piece!
