Establishing shots, close-ups, detail, inside, outside -- it is all here. Excellent coverage of the full event, and choices of photos to include.
Place Name: Second Place Contestant Name: MSU Reporter (Mankato State University) Entry Title: Mavericks touchdown into the new semester Entry Credit: Mansoor Ahmad Judge Comment: The photographer had to have special ordered the skylight and clouds! Or, took full advantage of what was provided. The majestic background turns a routine sporting event into an art piece.
Place Name: Third Place Contestant Name: The Bark (University of Minnesota - Duluth) Entry Title: Embracing Winter in Duluth Entry Credit: Madison Hunter Judge Comment: Sometimes the day-to-day can be an art display, if captured properly. That's what this photographer did, and it is a lovely piece to behold, celebrating the most famous season in Minnesota.
Competition Comment: Sometimes less is more. It could be the ability to post as many photos as desired on a digital platform that reduces the need to edit. But sometimes, editing down to the three or four gems is what really makes a photo display. Unless the event or presentation is spectacular and unique, the story can be told in short order.
