  • Place Name: First Place
Contestant Name: Glenwood - Pope County Tribune
Entry Title: Pope County Tribune - Website
    Entry Credit: Pope County Tribune
Judge Comment: Homepage widgets are varied and interactive. I would like to see this site make use of thumbnail photos on their other landing pages. Otherwise, great site. Simple yet informative. Site could benefit from use of a favicon.
  • Place Name: Second Place
Contestant Name: Peqout Lakes | Pineandlakes Echo Journal
    Entry Title: Website
    Entry Credit: Echo Journal Staff
Judge Comment: Nice website design. Good categorization and not too much on the homepage. My biggest issue with this entry is that in judging this competition, there have been seven other websites with the exact same design. When sister publications use the same layout, it is a good practice to do something, anything that sets one apart from the others.
  • Place Name: Third Place
Contestant Name: Kimball - Tri-County News
    Entry Title: Tri-County News
    Entry Credit: Jean Doran Matua
Judge Comment: Small type, difficult to read. Lots of placeholder images (such as the small byline photo on each story) not being utilized. What allowed this site to take third in this competition is that it includes over 20 years of archives. That is one mighty feat. It is important to keep history available to interested parties and to do so, adding archives online is necessary. It is a very time-consuming task, but definitely important.
