Judge Comment: A personal, engaging account of a theatrical drama that should attract readers for its theme as well as its community actors. The writer draws more than mere description in this preview, including the passion for performing with a round of tears!
  • Competition Comment: A grand experience reviewing these entries: from emotional near-mortal-combat to just simple brush strokes on canvas. All captured first with traditional newsprint. Many stories relied on single subjects: a presentation with the basic information and little personality. The better entries display emotion, empathy and narrative detail for their subjects. This was a very challenging category for judging. So we stuck with those we thought fit the "better entries" description. Good narrative writing, good art (subjects and photos) were especial attributes of in this category.
