Place Name: Second Place Contestant Name: New London/Spicer - Lakes Area Review Entry Title: 11/20, 12/14, 7/18 Entry Credit: Bethany Lacktorin, Hannah Martin, Taylor McLearen Judge Comment: The New London/Spicer - Lakes Area Review gets kudos for a few very well executed features. *Very robust business directiories shows the business community supports the paper and the newspaper readers must in turn support the local businesses. *Good use of premium front page ad positioning with the two, stacked full width x 2" ads. *Good use of the full-color Christmas/Holiday graphics as space fillers in the 12/11 edition. I assume they used these in each edition in December. Colorful and appealing. *Three Sisters Furnishings receives a five star shout out for their "12 Days of Christmas Specials and Giveaways" ad on page 2A of the December date submission. The use of the 12 Days of Christmas, with illustrations on a clean, open ad format is brilliant.

Competition Comment: A special mention to the Worthington, The Globe is that teheir "Trouble at the North Pole" children's activity book is a well thougth out book with good mix of advertisers. Likewise, the Oxford Street and Worthington Chamber of Commerce directories are well executed.
Additionally, the "Progress edition, Giving Back" section in the Red Wing Republican Eagle is a good mix of advertisers and color. A well laid out section.
